- On Joomla 4, installing or updating any extension failed. Next DB's plugins broke every package download on the site, including other vendors' updates and Install from URL. Fixed and tested on Joomla 4.4, 5 and 6.
- Installing from the command line failed, again for every extension on the site, not just Next DB.
- Installing could fail on Oracle MySQL if the database already held another copy of Next DB, which is common on shared hosting. Older sites are corrected automatically on update.
- Retrying a failed install no longer leaves two default profiles behind.
- The Data Views table no longer hits an index-length limit on older MySQL servers.
- Sites can now see that an update is available. The update server address was pointing at the wrong place.

- Updates can now be downloaded from inside Joomla. A small bundled plugin tells the store which site is asking, which is what the download was missing.
- Next DB warns you if that plugin is switched off or missing, and links to the screen that fixes it.

- Next DB no longer switches its update plugin back on by itself. If you turn it off, it stays off and you get a warning instead.
- Installing on a site that is too old is now refused up front, instead of installing and then failing. Next DB needs PHP 8.1, Joomla 4.4 and the PHP sodium extension.

- Next DB now requires PHP 8.1 or newer and Joomla 4.4 or newer.
- If you switch the update plugin off, one-click updating stops working.
