Next Exams suits sites that want their question bank, exams, results and certificates in one system on their own Joomla site.

It is likely a good fit if

• You already use Joomla, or are happy to
• You want to keep questions, results and personal data on your own site
• You want automatic grading, with people marking the essays
• You want verifiable certificates issued on a pass
• You want to supervise exams live, with or without Joomla accounts for invigilators
• You want to enable only the apps you need

It may not be the right fit yet if

• Your site runs on PostgreSQL. Next Exams ships a MySQL schema only, so it cannot be installed on PostgreSQL.
• You are on Joomla older than 4.4 or PHP older than 8.1. Neither is supported. See Compatibility.
• You need webcam proctoring or identity checks by camera. Video proctoring, webcam streaming and biometric capture are out of scope and will not be added.
• You want cheating decided automatically. Integrity signals are detection-only. They never fail, lock or flag anyone, and the judgement stays with you.
• You need essays marked automatically. Essays are marked by a person.
• You need a third-party accessibility audit or a VPAT. None has been commissioned, and the WCAG 2.1 AA remediation covers the examinee flow, not the authoring application. See Known limits.
• You need AI features today. They are listed as Coming soon.
