Use Cases
These are the situations we had in mind when building Next Restaurant. They are our suggestions, not a limit. Your venue will run differently, so adapt them to your needs, switch off the modules you don't use, and you may well find a use for it that we haven't thought of.
Independent restaurant
- Situation: a website with a booking widget, online orders through a third-party portal, and a separate POS.
- How it can help:
- Take bookings and online orders on your own Joomla site
- Run the counter from the same system
- Review the day in one report instead of several screens
Table-service venue with QR ordering
- Situation: guests want to order or reorder without waiting for a server.
- How it can help:
- Give each table its own code, with no app or account for guests
- Send orders to the right kitchen station
- Keep the table's occupancy visible on the floor map
Takeaway and delivery kitchen
- Situation: you want to run delivery yourself rather than through a marketplace.
- How it can help:
- Set delivery zones with their own fees, minimum orders and windows
- Assign drivers and follow orders on the dispatch board
- Take pickup and delivery orders through online ordering
Bookings-led venue
- Situation: the room fills by reservation, and capacity matters.
- How it can help:
- Offer only slots that fit your opening hours and tables
- Design the room on a drawable floor map
- Keep guests informed with confirmation, reminder and change emails
Venue with several locations
- Situation: each site has its own hours, stock and staff.
- How it can help:
- Scope menu, stock, staff and terminals by location
- Restrict terminals to specific staff, roles or one location
Kitchen watching food costs
- Situation: you need to know what dishes cost and when an ingredient runs out.
- How it can help:
- Link recipes to stock so sales deplete it automatically
- Log waste with reasons
- Remove an item from sale automatically when an ingredient runs out
