These are the benefits we see in Next Boards' design. What you gain depends on how your team works, so treat this list as a starting point: adapt the software to your needs and you may find benefits of your own.

For team leads and managers

A shared view of the work
- Read the same board as Kanban, a list, a calendar or a roadmap
- WIP limits warn you when a stage is full
Clearer numbers
- Throughput, cards by stage, member workload and due dates in reports
- CSV export and print

- Rules, buttons and scheduled commands handle repeated steps

Traceability: each card keeps its full history, which cannot be edited

For team members

Everything about a task in one place: description, people, dates, labels, checklists, files and comments on the card
Your own space: a private Inbox and Planner, and My Tasks across all boards
Notifications on your terms: choose per event, and between instant e-mails and a daily digest
Work from a phone: a phone app with nothing to install, and optional offline use

For clients and outside collaborators

Just the access they need: one Private board if you wish, or read-only as an Observer
No backend access: they use the public side of your site with a normal site login

For site administrators

Native to Joomla: uses your Joomla users, with no limit on the number of users or boards
Your data stays with you: boards, cards and files stay in your own Joomla database and on your own server
Only what you need: switch off apps you do not use, and their data is kept
Controlled access: board, workspace and site-wide roles, which can be given to Joomla user groups
Updates through Joomla: installed and updated like any other extension
Open licence: GNU General Public License version 2 or later
